The public transport is quite good in Holland and most often on time. You will always find a schedule at every bus stop. From Amsterdam you can take the regional bus to Edam 110, 112, 114,116,117 or 118. From Purmerend you can take the 113 to Volendam, but stops in Edam and from Hoorn you can take the 114 to Amsterdam, but stops in Edam

The easiest way to get to Edam is to fly to Schiphol airport in Amsterdam. Schiphol is a major international airport and receives flights from nearly all destinations. The airport is 25 kilometers away from Edam. Public transport is very good in Holland and you can take the train and bus to get there. From the airport go to Amsterdam Centraal Amsterdam central Station by train or bus. The easiest and fastest way is by train, serviced by the NS national railway and take one of the following regional busses from Amsterdam CS serviced by Arriva -110, 112, 114,116,117 or 118

There is no trainstation in Edam. However, you can travel by train to Amsterdam, Purmerend or Hoorn and take the bus to Edam. It takes around 20-45 minutes to get to Edam.
